A Day to Remember!

Posted on January 22, 2017December 30, 2020

I have a dream….well, actually its no longer a dream. Its a reality. On Thursday, January 19th, my songs were played on the radio.

Funny, it didn’t go like I had envisioned it. I had pictured myself at home (or in the car) happening to listen to the radio and suddenly hearing a song of mine being played.  No, it didn’t happen that way at all. Instead I was in a studio (with my sisters) being interviewed by a childhood friend Timmy (Tija) Butcher and Dr. Ayo Gooden. Aren’t the Lord’s blessings often different and better than we imagine them?

My sisters surprised me. Basically here’s what was emailed to friends and family: “Lisa and her music are being featured on WCHE1520 AM between 1:00 – 2:00pm today. Please listen if you’re available. You can also call in during the program. Let’s show Lisa some love today. Remember, its a secret!”

Love? Yes! A secret? Yes! Thank you Lord. Thank you sisters.

Here’s the link to the interview http://wche1520.libsyn.com. You may have to scroll to the specific program: “Don’t Get It Twisted; Jan 19, 2017”. Also some pics from that day to remember.

Hey soul sister….is that YOU on the radio?

Have I Got A Word For You… Munificence!

The Lord blesses me with so many things: adoption into His family, good health, resources, a loving family and friends who laugh at my jokes and can make me laugh. Even so, I know much of what He has given, I don’t fully comprehend. Some of the words the Bible uses to describe the Lord’s giving are “lavished”, “freely” “generously” and “abundantly”

Recommended by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, I was reading The Incomparable Christ by J. Oswald Sanders and came across a word that puts the openness of His giving into a nut shell – if that can even be done. MUNIFICENCE: willing to give and share unstintingly, bountiful, liberal, lavishly generous; great generosity

Don’t you just love it! The word sounds just like the meaning. The Lord’s gifts are not only magnificent (splendid or impressive in appearance, exalted; outstanding of its kind; excellent); they are also munificent.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:8)

Please, don’t get me started on “lavished”!!

There’s nothing like a good word or song to encourage us. The link below is to Andrae Crouch’s classic: We Need A Word from You. Take a listen.

We Need a Word From You by Andrae Crouch

Let’s Encourage Each Other

Sing A New (or old) Song

My prayer is that something on the website (the words or perhaps a link to a song) is an encouragement. I'll be honest - songs are such an encouragement to me. Through songs the Lord shows Himself faithful. I've heard that phrase much of my life. But the meaning is unfolding to me. Like an accordion, the meaning is unraveling as I've never imagined before. Is that happening for you too?

The steadfast love of the Lord is never ceases. His mercies never come to an end; they are NEW every morning.
(Lamentations 3:22)
Considering that, I want to sing a NEW song to Him. (Psalm 96:1)
Old or new, He's deserving of our songs and our daily praise: YOMPRAISE!

Don't you agree? I'd love to hear from you - whoever you are. If you'd like to leave a comment, please do.
